Security Guard: Online Course

 

The 40-hour Security Training syllabus is based on the required ministry guidelines. This training is required for individuals such as bouncers, security guards, loss-prevention personnel, bodyguards, door staff, and in-house guards.

 

The online course will include:

  • Introduction to the Security Industry

  • The Private Security and Investigative Services Act

  • Basic Security Procedures

  • Report Writing

  • Health and Safety

  • Emergency Response Preparation

  • Canadian Legal System

  • Legal Authorities

  • Effective Communications

  • Sensitivity Training

  • Use of Force Theory

  • Emergency Level First Aid (If purchased)

Private Investigation: Online Course

The 50-hour Private Investigator Training syllabus is based on the required ministry guidelines. This course can be offered in conjunction with an eight hour practical.

 

The online course will include:

  • Introduction to the industry

  • The Private Security and Investigation Services Act

  • Provincial and Federal Statues

  • Criminal and Civil Law

  • Investigative Techniques

  • Principles of Ethical Reasoning/Decision-making

  • Key Principles of Communication and Interaction

  • Self-Management Skills

Become a Security Guard or a Private Investigator

 

To become a licensed Security Guard or Private Investigator in Ontario, you must:

  • Complete the required 40 or 50 hour course.

  • Once completed, you will be eligible to apply for your Ministry examination and obtain your license.

  • Once licensed, you may work as a Security Guard or Private Investigator.
